The surface morphology of the eggs of Anopheles dirus was studied withS.E.M.and the major elements of the dorsal surface

frills and the end bulbs of the egg were demonstrated by E.D.S.There arevarious elements such as Al
Si
P
S
Cl
K
Ca
Cu
Zn
present in the eggs.Justbelow the apex of the egg
on the dorsal surface lies the micropyle which wasstudied with S.E.M.It is clearly demonstrated that the micropyle resemblesa“daisy” with seven “petals” surrounding a center hole
and the petals in turnare surrouded by smooth ring.
