The results of DSC show that β-form spherulites of isotactic polypropylene (IPP) can be obtained by adding a β-nucleating agent in the IPP sample. The appearance of its morphology is distinguished from the α-form in brilliant coloring spherulites under the crossed polarized microscope and in flower-like spherulites with lamellar petals under SEM. As temperature increases the β-form IPP transforms into α-form at first and then melts tegether with a-form IPP.
