The method of preparation of thallic trichloride has been established by using thallic chloride and chlorine. In the present of the mild oxidant thallic trichloride
the iodide ion reacts with the unsaturated bond between C-5 and C-6 of pyrimidines in ssDNA or ssRNA
and its DNA specific activity reached 4-6×10~6 cpm/μg. The specificity of the labels has been identified with molocular hybridization.
