SiO 2 nanometer powders were prepared by sol gel method and characterized by X ray diffraction
transmission electron microscopy
FT IR spectrometer and differential scanning calormetry analyzer. The results show that the SiO 2 powders heated at 1 200 ℃ for 1 h are amorphous. The average size of the powders is about 40 nm
and the whiteness is 92 1%. On the other hand
with the increasing calcine temperature
the 962 cm -1 band of Si-OH bent vibration was disappeared
and the shift of the band of Si-O-Si anti symmetrical stretch vibration from 1 082 to 1 100 cm -1
