Ultrastructure of the Pore Cap in Dikaryotic Hyphae of Tremella fuciformis
It was found in the study of ultrastructure of the septal pore apparatus indikaryotic hyphae of Trenlella fuciformis The pore cap consists not of a number of cupu-late bodies
but of a number of folded laminate bodies that are dome-shaped over thepore openings. The folded laminate body appears U-shaped in longitudinal section
two parallel striate in cross-section
and open circular in tilted-longitudinal section offolded laminate base. The folded laminate body of eight-fold is composed of four elec-tron-dense layers. Two clear electron-dense layers are presented on both sides of thefolded laminate body
and the inside other two electron-dense layers are blurred be-cause they may be pressed closely together. Endoplasmic reticulum(ER )is continuouswith the unit membrane of both sides of the folded laminate structure
There are severalER on both sides of the septum
From what has been described above
it can be rec-ognized that the folded laminate body is formed by fold of paired ER.In order to differfrom the dolipore/parenthesome septum of other basidiomycetes and better describe theseptal pore apparatus of Tremella
the author 8ives a name of dolipore/laminatesomesseptum.
