Reaction of Transition Metal Thiolato Units──"Synthons"Ⅰ. Crystal Structure of Cluster Complex Co3 (abt)3(μ3-S) (PBu3 ̄n)3
The construction of three of the structural unit Co(abt) ( ) (abbreviated as MLL
obtained from CoCl2
abtNa and
abt = o - aminobenzenethiolate) in the presence of Li2S forms the tricobalt-phosphine-thiolato cluster complex Co3 (abt )3 (μ3-S ) ( )3. The triangular Co3molecular plane is capped by an inorganic μ3-S and each penta-coordinated Co atom is further ligated by a phosphine and an abt ligand to form a distorted trigonal bipyramid. Each of the thiolato sulfur atoms bridges the adjacent Co atoms to give a μ2-S bridge resulting in an average Co-Co distance of 0. 270 9 nm.
