A New Method for Bromination of 3-Methyl-3-buten-1-ol
The use of bromine-triphenyl phosphite as the brominating agent for the bromination of 3-methyl -3-buten-1-ol is reported with this new method
the reaction was easily controlled
the isolation and purification of the brominatcd product were convenient
the yield was increased.It also indicated that phosphorus tribromide is not a suitable agent for the bromination of this kind of alcohol. The structure of the brominated product was confirmed by 1H NMR data.
